Most ladder failures start as faults you can see — if you look before the shift, not after the fall. This is the check our warehouse crew runs on every ladder, every week.

Stiles and feet first

Sight down each stile for bends and cracks, then check the feet. Worn or missing rubber feet are the most common fault we see on site ladders, and the easiest to fix.

A ladder with one worn foot doesn't fail slowly — it goes sideways the first time it's loaded on a smooth floor.

Rungs, locks and labels

  • Rungs — no movement, no dents, no grease.
  • Spreader locks — snap fully open and hold under a push.
  • Load label — legible, with the duty rating matched to the job.

Anything that fails goes out of service with a tag on the stile — not back on the truck.
